California Baseball Academy is a relatively new travel organization. By the number of college commits they’ve produced and the high profile nature of their travel teams, you would never know that CBA has only been around for about six years. Since 2014, CBA Baseball has produced over 650 college commits and 71 MLB draft picks, 25 of which were in the top five rounds. The results the organization has produced in this short amount of time are pretty astounding, and on top of that, they’re widely recognized as one of the best club baseball organizations in the nation.
The quick success CBA has experienced can be attributed to their mission statement, which goes beyond the game of baseball. Not only is the organization committed to player development on the field, but they’re equally as committed to personal development. Through this balanced approach, CBA is able to help players achieve their goals on the field and also in life. By creating a positive learning environment, teaching players to respect the game, and attending highly competitive events, CBA provides a premier club baseball experience for all of their players. To summarize, CBA has created an environment for their players to effectively grow and develop.
Another impressive piece to CBA Baseball is the quick growth they’ve experienced. CBA is primarily located in Southern California, but they’ve expanded their operations to Northern California, Nevada, Florida, Hawaii, Utah, Texas, and Tennessee. Within each of these states, they operate a number of teams across several age ranges. CBA players will have a very similar experience no matter the state where they are a CBA member. Players can expect the following:
- Weekly Practices
- CBA Evaluation Days
- Field Level Recruiting Profile
- Mental Skills Workshops
- Strength & Sports Performance Training
- College Exposure
- Perfect Game Discounts
- College Camps
- Victus & Marucci Sponsorship
The network of CBA travel baseball teams are highlighted by the CBA Marucci team. This team contains some of the finest amateur baseball players in the region, and in 2020 consisted of 33 college commits. With a high concentration of talent, the team consistently earns top finishes in some of the most prestigious amateur baseball tournaments. For instance, the 2020 CBA Marucci squad took home the WWBA National Championship and were also finalists in the 2019 Perfect Game Fall National Championship.
California Baseball Academy recently integrated Blast Motion swing technology through their SwingCenter. Blast has proven to be a fantastic tool, helping baseball players of all talent levels improve their swing through a variety of metrics and data points. The technology also enables coaches to continue their player development efforts remotely. As a member of the SwingCenter, players will receive a free blast sensor, Zoom webinars, monthly swing reports, video analysis, customized practice plans, and hitting consultations.
CBA also runs an exposure camp in the Fall for their uncommitted players. The event allows uncommitted players to work closely with and play in front of 15 to 20 college coaches. Unlike many other showcase style events, the player to coach ratio remains pretty low, which allows attendees to have a high level of visibility to the college coaches. The camp is ideal for competitive high school baseball players who want to be identified as a college baseball prospect.
