Better known for their basketball team, don’t sleep on the Duke University baseball program. Duke has been a part of the ACC since the conference’s inception back in 1954. Their lengthy history includes three College World Series 6th place finishes in 1952, 1953, and 1961. The program has also had a lot of success in their recent history. In their 2021 season, the Blue Devils secured an ACC Tournament Championship along with an NCAA Regional appearance. The program also had back-to-back Super Regional appearances in 2018 and 2019. Duke University is a high academic school, with SAT scores typically in the mid to high 700’s for both verbal and math. They also posted a single digit acceptance rate at 8%, making it one of the most challenging schools to get into in the nation.
