The Canes travel baseball organization produces some of the top teams and most highly sought after players on a yearly basis. By taking a look at the program’s alumni, college commitments, and tournament results, it’s no surprise why their teams regularly sit at the top of several travel baseball national rankings.
Canes Baseball is a non-profit organization that is dedicated to helping high school baseball players achieve their goals of playing at the collegiate level and beyond. As a part of this organization, players are guaranteed to benefit from a high level of exposure to college coaches and professional scouts.
Their teams regularly attend the top amateur baseball tournaments in the nation, like the WWBA National Championship. These premier tournaments can attract hundreds of college coaches and professional scouts. Additionally, the Canes are typically one of the top performers at the event, which generates additional exposure for their players.
The organization is equally as committed to player development. With a highly knowledgeable staff and a development focused approach, players are able to further improve their baseball skill set.
Canes baseball currently operates over 40 travel baseball teams across several age groups. These teams are primarily located within the eastern and central regions, with the highest percentage of their players coming from North Carolina, South Carolina, and Virginia.
While the organization focuses on amateur baseball at the high school age range, they also operate a few youth baseball teams, starting with their 7U program. Of their full network of teams, a majority fall within the 15U to 18U range. 17U is actually their most popular age group, which they run 10 different teams for.
As you might have suspected, players are recruited to play for the Canes. They have a national scouting director who is responsible for finding the top talent within the different regions. Only the top players are invited to play for this organization, so don’t be discouraged if your invite didn’t come through.
To give you a frame of reference, the Canes National 17U team that was featured as the #1 travel baseball team by Perfect Game contained 28 PG ranked players. In addition to talent, Canes Baseball also looks for players with excellent attitudes, solid academics, and a team focused mentality.
Being a part of this organization gives players a feel for the life of a college athlete. The organization emphasizes teamwork, dedication to athletics and academics, and accountability. Players must dedicate themselves to the program year round, similar to the experience of a college baseball player. The program provides for one of the best amateur baseball experiences, traveling across the east coast for tournaments and events.
